Seymour Helping Hands: A Year of Transformation and Impact in 2025

As we bid farewell to 2025, Seymour Helping Hands reflects on a year filled with remarkable achievements and a renewed commitment to uplifting our community. This year, we didn’t just meet goals; we shattered them, making significant strides toward our mission of service, support, and compassion.

Empowering Lives: The Highlights

1. Expansion of Assistance Programs: In response to the growing needs of our community, our initiatives supported 208 families through the New2You project, which takes donated items and provides them to those in need. Additionally, our Let's Eat Program allowed us to focus on feeding 728 families throughout the year. These programs also facilitated donations to other non-profits, including Christian Action Services in the Crowell and Quanah area, Pay It Forward in Wichita Falls for those with medical needs, and Base Camp Lindsey, dedicated to housing homeless veterans in and around Wichita Falls, TX.

2. Addiction Support Initiatives: In 2025, we provided a welcoming space for local Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) groups to meet weekly. We focused on ensuring that individuals in need of addiction assistance had access to vital information for seeking rehabilitation support. In the fall, we partnered with Texas officials to offer a course on the safe administration of Narcan and supplied local entities with boxes of Narcan, empowering our community to address addiction effectively.

3. The Bread Program: A key component of the Let's Eat initiative, our Bread Program distributed over 1,500 loaves of bread, helping to ensure that families have access to essential food items and combating hunger in our community.

4. Celebrating Local SISD Staff: Throughout the year, we recognized local staff from the Seymour Independent School District (SISD) who have made a significant difference. These acknowledgments highlighted the power of individual contributions in fostering a supportive and enriching environment for our children.

Looking Ahead: A Vision for 2026

As we plan for 2026, our resolve to innovate and expand our support remains strong. We look forward to expanding our services to include more educational as well as Art classes. We hope to promote growth within our community and improved welfare through programs that focus on Financial Stability, Understanding and navigating Insurance and other areas that are often a mentally taxing and stressful situation. With new initiatives on the horizon, we are excited to invite the community to join us as we continue to tackle the challenges we face together.
