Last Week at SHH: Full Hearts, Full Shelves, and Lots of Smiles
Last week at SHH was one of those weeks that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Our community showed up in the best ways — with food, donations, kindness, and a whole lot of heart. Thanks to that generosity, we were able to put together food boxes for several families, keep our little outdoor pantry stocked and ready, and make sure no one went without when they needed help most.
We also had a couple of moms stop by for diapers and formula, and we were honored to be there for them. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference, and seeing neighbors help neighbors never gets old. Every can, box, and smile told the same story — this community truly takes care of its own.
The weekend wrapped up with laughter and creativity as kids (and yes, even parents!) came out to paint ornaments and nutcrackers. There were paint-covered fingers, proud smiles, and plenty of holiday cheer to go around. We were also blessed to receive donations of Christmas gifts for our nursing home residents — our cherished Legacy community members — making sure they feel remembered and loved this season.
Weeks like this fill our hearts just as much as they fill our shelves. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, painted, shopped, and supported SHH. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a community come together — and we are so grateful to be part of it.
