Seymour Helping Hands welcomed the community for a day full of laughter, connection, and sunshine on March 14th, hosting a Family Fun Day designed to give families a chance to relax, play, and simply enjoy time together.
The event featured a variety of interactive stations where children of all ages could jump in and have fun. From balloon darts and cornhole to ball toss, can knockdown, and a lively round of Red Light/Green Light, there was truly something for everyone. Each activity station offered small prizes, ensuring that every child left with a smile—whether it was cups, bubbles, or water balloon sets to take the fun home.
Volunteers with Seymour Helping Hands played a key role in making the day memorable. They guided participants through each activity, cheered on the kids, and encouraged them to come back and try again. Their enthusiasm created a welcoming and supportive environment that made every child feel included and celebrated.
The turnout was a wonderful reflection of the community’s spirit, with several dozen families in attendance. In a special moment that highlights the reach of simple kindness, a visiting group from Fort Worth, having heard about the event, stopped in to join the festivities.
Beyond the organized games, the day took on a life of its own as children brought skateboards and bicycles to enjoy the skate park. One of the most heartwarming sights was watching older kids help younger ones, offering encouragement and building confidence—an example of community at its very best.
Events like Family Fun Day are a reminder of Seymour Helping Hands’ mission: to bring people together, support families, and create opportunities for connection and joy. As the organization continues to grow, days like this highlight the importance of community-driven efforts that make a lasting impact.
