May is full of great things in Seymour.

May is shaping up to be an incredible month full of connection, celebration, and community spirit right here in Seymour, Texas! There’s something happening around nearly every corner, and it’s the perfect time to come together, support one another, and enjoy all the great things our town has to offer.

We kick things off on May 3rd with a double dose of excitement! Head over to the SHS Auditorium for a fantastic Band Concert showcasing the hard work and talent of our local students. That same day, don’t miss the annual Rib Feed and Raffle hosted by the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department—great food, great people, and a great cause all in one place.

The celebrations continue on May 4th with the FFA Banquet, followed by the Band Banquet on May 7th, honoring the dedication and achievements of our amazing youth.

Then comes one of the biggest highlights of the month! On May 9th, join us downtown for the 5th Annual KFDX/Fox 18 Spring Fling Car Show benefiting Seymour Helping Hands. From classic rides to modern showstoppers, plus vendors, food, and family fun—it’s a day you won’t want to miss!

Academic excellence takes center stage on May 11th with the National Honor Society Induction, and we celebrate a major milestone on May 15th with Graduation—congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Looking ahead, kids can enjoy some outdoor adventure at the Kids for Jesus Horse Camp on May 22nd and 23rd, and the Church of Christ will host Sonshine Days Food Box distribution on May 28th, continuing their efforts to support families in our community.

And throughout the month, Seymour Helping Hands Community Center remains a steady place of support and connection. Join them every Monday from 4:15–6:00 PM for their Free Bread Program and every Saturday from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at 100 S Washington. They also host NA/AA meetings every Monday at 7:00 PM, offering encouragement and a safe space for those who need it.
